These excellent middle grade books for ages 8 to 12 deal with race, racism, prejudice, and social justice. They’ll give readers insight, empathy, and spark deep thinking about human rights and inequality. And they can be a starting point for discussions and reflections. Racism is taught. Let’s be sure we’re not teaching it inadvertently.
