That water feed line supplies the heater and oil cooler as well as the EGR cooler, so is vital. The 1.8, at least in the Focus, does not object to a blanking plate in the EGR. I would not advise leaving the EGR valve un-blanked without a working cooler. The gas going in to the inlet manifold may be too hot.

Turns out Ford know all about the issue with faulty injectors on the 08/09 1.8 engine.. The injectors are a Siemens injector ending with a 3. The TSB is TSB 27/2012 dated 14/05/12 and affects 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) engines between 2008/2009. It affects the Focus, Mondeo, C-Max, Transit connect and Tourneo.

WireyWhenWet. Unplug the sensor from the hub, start the engine, turn off. Plug sensor back in and plug in an obd diag ( bluetooth ones should be fine) then ignition on. Get an app such as Torque (on android) and have it read the codes, then even if non listed, go to the option to clear them.
